Web Sites
- Cat-Street – the largest auction web site for China and Asia; this one was shown on CNN in 2000; recommendation from Pete Wong is available in “Recommendations” section;
- nic.ro – Network Information Center and Domain Registry for Romania – the complete website and all the robots running in background (email responders, whois server etc);
- RomNET website – the 2nd as large News Agency of Romania in 2001
- Evenimentul Zilei – the complete CMS and website for one of the largest romanian newspaper, which was up for about 2 years;
- Militaria Web – the main auction site in Europe for military items.
Unix Work
- the first nation-wide authentication system for dialup users, made while working for PCNET Data Network (1998-1999 – at that time the largest ISP in Romania, more than 40,000 customers);
- the first self-administration web interface for a romanian ISP (made for PCNet customers), integrated with accounting modules and self charging with dialup usage time;
- a network filter: proxy http, pop3, imap and smtp connections, scanning for viruses and spam;
- setup the complete server infrastructure for PacificNet, a local ISP, with ~500 customers.
Computer Software
- quick Mail Sender – newsletter sending software: supports unlimited number of threads and millions of recipients; can deliver directly to recipient’s SMTP server, no local one needed;
- quick Blog Finder and Poster – will search fost Wordpress blogs and can auto-post comments;
- quick SEO Check – will check a specific URL and give hints of what can be optimized. Can also check the page against keywords and will report a score. All the algorithms are made based on own experience.
- together with Adrian Lazar, built the “Network Administrator”, sold by Compusoft in Germany.
Oldies but Goldies
During Highschool and not only, I developed different software solutions that used to run under DOS OS (no longer used). I will list some I still remember:
- a puzzle game – made together with Olaru Liviu (now working for Microsoft), with graphics and music; we earned the 2nd place on a local software contest;
- a window manager for DOS applications – written in Borland Pascal, with some assembler code and having graphical interface, could run DOS native applications into their own windows, which had resize and move options (everything mouse driven);
- encryption/archive software;
- clocks and all kind of TSR (resident) programs.
